How Microsoft Lost the API War: Some good points about backwards compatibility in MS Windows. I can’t help but think that if APIs were better designed and enforced from the beginning then there would be a lot less grief further down the road. I know, I know, easy to take pot shots after the fact.
Mac CVS Client: GUI CVS client for Mac OS X (and older). I’ve always just pulled open a terminal window and used the CLI CVS client. Add this to my list of software to try some day.
Highlight Responses In Mail.App: I’ve been using Mail.App for awhile now and I’m pretty happy with it. The highlight style that it uses is nice without being overwhelming.
MD5 and Passwords: A good read for getting right to the point of MD5 use for passwords.

RSS 2.0 Spec: Specifications, they are kind of like standards, there are plenty to choose from.

The Select Star Problem: SQL isn’t that bad. Don’t try to put another layer over the top of it, just use it. Learn it, love it, gripe at vendors who don’t support ‘standard’ SQL.

Web Page Analyzer: Calculate the amount of time it will take people to download your site at various connection speeds. I remember seeing scripts for this back in 1997.
WP-Amazon: Interesting WordPress plugin for linking to Amazon.com products. I suppose if you did something like this often this would save you a lot of time.
Xdebug: Add-on for PHP that provides some extended debugging features.
