DVD Commentary Disclaimers

Many people in our families got DVDs for Christmas, nothing new there, they are a common gift. In watching a couple of them I noticed something different, disclaimers about the contents of the commentary track on the DVD. I thought this was rather odd, why would one need a disclaimer for the commentary? Perhaps folks are making comments that have ticked off some people. I’m rather surprised the commentary tracks would not have to be “approved” by the studio/producer/MPAA/etc before making it on to the DVD. Is the DVD commentary the last vestige of complete control for the director (or who ever is doing the commentary)?
