The Lynx web browser doesn’t come with Mac OS X by default. A port has been done and is available at http://www.osxgnu.org/software/pkgdetail.html?project_id=226#4086. You can also get from Apple’s download site.
Now stop laughing, Lynx is still a useful tool.

I’m laughing at the fact of how simple of a text browser Lynx is. There are so many great text browsers being developed nowadays. I prefer Elinks, which supports color, frames, tables, and basic CSS.
http://finkproject.org/ is what I used to manage additional open source tools when a Mac was my main computer.
Lynxlet (http://habilis.net/lynxlet/) is another port of Lynx, designed to be quick and easy to use. A wrapper application encapsulates Lynx, and it has a Bookmarklet/Favelet for quick launching from other browsers.
