I wonder how long sips (scriptable image processing system) has been around in Mac OS X? If you’re the type who has a terminal window open all the time any way (or a dozen of them) then this is a really handy tool for image manipulation.

It looks like sips has been around since OS X v10.4 judging by the online man page (you can view different versions of the man page and it goes back to 10.4).
True, looks like at least 10.4 – http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/documentation/Darwin/Reference/ManPages/10.4/man1/sips.1.html?useVersion=10.4 – but the drop down for selecting OS X versions only goes back to 10.4, so I’m still not sure when it first showed up.
