Back in June I mentioned HTTP client hints, like DPR. It has gone on to Intent to Ship for Chrome. That spawned additional discussion on privacy and performance issues. Yoav Weiss has written up a doc on implementation considerations.
The Chrome Feature List has it with a status of “In development”.
