It is officially winter here in Utah. It’s about 2pm and it has already dropped about 5 inches of snow today and it is still going. Here’s the view from my front door:
Here’s what the front of my house looks like in the snow:
This being my first winter in Utah (or anywhere else that gets snow) it is something of a learning experience. Earlier this morning I saw some kids out on an ATV dragging a snow saucer with some rope down the street. They came through my court and made a nice arc, looked like fun.
My plan for getting through the winter, leave the house as little as possible 🙂

We have the exact same thing over here in South Dakota. I just got in from blowing snow.
It was 71 here in Dallas today … I’m dreaming of a green Christmas.

I don’t have a snow blower yet (going to have to get one though), but a neighbor was kind enough to do my driveway and walkway while doing his.

Yeah, yeah, rub it in 🙂
Very picturesque, but I highly recommend the snow blower. (First thing that came to my mind when I saw your footprints in the driveway was, “I bet he posted this *before* he got to shovel off all that snow!”)
Go crazy and get an ATV with a blade for pushing the snow out of the way. Less work than a blower, and with the same quality. Just a little more pricey, but it *guarantees* that you’ll want to get out and shovel that snow 😉

An ATV, now that’s what I call motivation!
OMG, great pictures. It’s nothing like that here in Northern Cali – doesn’t feel much like the Christmas season. I’m from the East Coast so remember growing up playing in the snow. They had a holiday festival downtown this past weekend where they brought in fake snow so the kids could play in it. Hilarious!
Oh yeah, don’t forget to salt the sidewalk and driveway so you won’t fall!

No need for fake snow here, even though it has been melting away, forecast calls for more this weekend.
We’ve got this stuff called IceMelt, which does a pretty good job of keeping the ice away.
