There is a site dedicated to standardizing changelogs: keepachangelog.com. That one is more detailed than the GNU “Style of Change Logs”.
I’m a fan of changelogs, it is one of the first things that I look for when exploring a new repo. So please, include a changelog for your project. Oh, and includes dates in the changelog, it makes them more useful.
